'I want everyone gone!': Couple forced to kick entitled in-laws out of their new home after they keep extending their stay

Staying with one's in-laws for an extended period of time is a dangerous game. On the one hand, it's important for everyone to learn how to bond, cohabitate, and spend time together. On the other hand, there are boundaries, and sometimes, in-laws can develop a curious sense of entitlement that seems to make it impossible for them to obey those boundaries. 

If you're dealing with a decent self-aware member of the extended family, they might understand your social cues. In other words, when you yawn after a long and seemingly endless conversation, they might understand that you've had enough and you're ready for a break. However, there are some folks who feel that because they are your elders, they do not need to register your social cues or give you space if they don't want space themselves. Let's be clear: this is nothing more than a power play but you do not have to fall for it, even if you are the new person entering the family. Just because you want their approval does not mean you have to let them walk all over you and disrespect your boundaries.

    Personally I'd want them to leave at this point to, but that doesn't mean it's going to sit well with the wife. You know her better than any of us, think about how you think she'll react and then plan accordingly.
